With years of marketing experience under his belt, Marc Shinsato has the chops and savvy to expertly analyze any business opportunity that comes his way. He goes beyond the surface and digs into the reality beyond appearances. He’s heard the hype and can immediately spot the alluring come-on and the bait-and-switch.

That’s why the Synergy opportunity stopped him in his tracks. “I had toiled in the traditional 8-to-5 business world most of my life, and I was ready for a change,” Marc says. “I wanted to spend more time with my family and have control over my life. You never know how something will work out unless you try, so I was eager to sign on with the right company.”

One day, a good friend of Marc’s asked him to look at Synergy and the compensation plan. “I’ve worked on the corporate side in other network marketing firms,” he says. “When I look at any business plan, I always analyze the success rate. If it’s small, I step away.”

Marc realizes how high the failure rate is for most network marketing companies. “The comp plans in most of these companies is skewed to the guys at the top,” he says. “I wanted to know which company allowed an everyday guy like me to make money. I was extremely impressed with the Mega-Match plan, which doesn’t have any breakaways and pays to infinity. The Mega-Match plan is what really propels Synergy and allows everyone to create leverage and build a life-long business.”

Marc was excited to get going and signed on eagerly. However, the first few months were difficult. He was working hard, but he had little to show for his efforts. His good friend Bill Heriford, a tremendous network marketer and mentor to many, came to the rescue with some good advice. Hang in there, Bill told him, work hard consistently, and you will reap the rewards of long-term success. Marc heeded Bill’s advice, and three and a half years later, he’s very happy he came to Synergy.

With years of experience, Marc has his own ideas on making your way in this industry. “Many people think of network marketing as a get-rich-quick scheme,” he says. “It’s actually a get-rich-slow business. There’s a reason it’s called ‘network’ marketing, with an emphasis on the work. It requires a great deal of slow, patient effort every day, building up relationships and fostering a positive atmosphere.”

It’s a business,” Marc says, and you have to treat it as such. Work regular hours, show up on time in your home office, and treat every prospect with respect. If you approach networking correctly, it’s the greatest experience in the world. However, if you don’t do it right and don’t take it as seriously as you should, it’s the worst experience in the world.

Marc also has some keen insights into the art of recruiting. “When you’re recruiting, you must be honest and upfront with people,” he says. “Give them realistic expectations, not pie in the sky. It takes a special kind of person to succeed in this business. You must be comfortable talking to people.”

Marc and his team like to give new recruits the taste of immediate success. “On our team, we try to make sure the Autoship of new recruits is paid within the first 90 days. That means all their excellent products cost them nothing. This is a huge incentive.”

The team is now focusing on Mistica and trying to achieve duplication in their methods. “We’ve really simplified our methods and have come up with a great, simple system that everyone can follow,” Marc says. “Too many options confuse people. It only takes 15 minutes to give the presentation we’ve created. When you can plug people into a system and make it duplicatable, you get great success. We focus on helping people and providing them with a system to make money immediately. That’s why they get into the business.”

Synergy fulfills Marc’s goals of financial independence, freedom to spend his day how he wants, and the ability to make a difference in peoples’ lives. “The comp plan really gives all of us at Synergy a chance to help our business partners succeed,” he says. “Helping others achieve their dreams and goals is what this business is all about.”
